Trying Something New...

This weekend to push myself outside my comfort zone I decided to try something new. Being new to the cheerleading team here at Southern there are a lot of new stunts that I have gotten to learn in these last few months. Surprisingly I am one of the tallest on the team. Compared to all of my other teams I was always one of the shortest of somewhere in the middle. Well this weekend I was able to change my position from being a back spot on the team to being a base. I was always a base on my other teams but it meant so much more on this one because I havent been able to showcase my full talents.

Trying it was so dfferent the stunts here are so much more elite. Making sure my hand positions and stance was correct was so hard. I never have tried these stunts that pushed my abilities like that. I was completely terrified at the fact that my top girl can fall on top of me at any moment and end her's and my cheerleading career if I dont preform my part correctly.

My coach comended me for trying something new. Even though it was just revisiting basic skills but just adding more difficulty to it. I was so proud of myself for trying something because I'm always used to staying in my comfort zone when it comes to cheer because it is so easy to seriously injure yourself. But since this weekend i have learned that you have to live on the edge a little to progress in life.
